TAGAYTAY.
The Cool City by the Ridge.
|
The Tagaytay real estate scene has recently been gaining the attention not only of potential local but also of international locators, as tourism and commercial developments continue full-throttle in this quaint vacation town.
Tagaytay is a city in the province of Cavite and located about 55 kilometers south of Metro Manila. Tagaytay has become a very popular tourist destination due in part to its proximity to the capital city but also because it offers a cool climate, a good view of the awe-inspiring Taal Volcano, and a host of dining and gastronomic attractions. Major tourist attractions in the city include: the People's Park in the Sky (formerly the Palace in the Sky), Residence Inn, Tagaytay Picnic Grove, and Tagaytay Highlands. |
Tagaytay has a decidedly mixed topography, with its southern and eastern areas covered by forested and grassy hills and mountains while its northerly and central areas have level to nearly level areas with very gently sloping surface.
Commercial and retail establishments have recently been sprouting in the central areas of the city as tourists from Manila and the nearby urban centers flock to escape the pollution in their respective cities.
The venerable Taal Vista Lodge has now been extensively refurbished and transformed into a full-fledged hotel resort by the SM group. The competing Robinsons group has for its part built the huge Summit Ridge Hotel to provide tourists with modern and upscale accommodations. There are lots of restaurants and eateries in the nearby areas that are almost always full during the weekends and during holidays. More commercial and retail spaces are expected to become available in these areas as the tourist traffic steadily increases.
The outskirts of the city center are dotted with countless gated residential developments that mostly cater to upper and middle-income buyers who want to establish a weekend getaway resthouse in the city. Prices of properties are decidedly higher in the areas that are nestled in the Tagaytay ridge that offers a view of the Taal volcano. Developments located on the other side of the highway compensate with more features and amenities. There are likewise many housing and apartment units throughout the city that can be rented for short periods of time.
The following are the advantages of acquiring real estate in Tagaytay:
-
Tagaytay is easily accessible from the capital city of Metro Manila as it can be reached either through the Aguinaldo Highway (that connects Tagaytay with the Coastal Road ) or the relatively newer Sta. Rosa and Carmona Exits (that connect Tagaytay with the South Luzon Expressway).
-
Tagaytay is easily accessible from the burgeoning new growth areas in Sta Rosa and Binan, Laguna, where a host of residential, commercial and industrial developments are being aggressively pursued by some of the country's biggest real estate developers.
-
Tagaytay is a continuing tourist draw, hence more developments are expected to be steadily added to answer the burgeoning tourist demand.
-
Tagaytay offers a serene and peaceful setting that stands in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila. This is expected to retain the position of Tagaytay in the minds of many well-off city dwellers as a viable and attractive weekend and vacation getaway.
-
Tagaytay has become a favored venue for special occasions such as sports, picnics, conferences, weddings, honeymoons, and spiritual retreats. As such, the value of properties in the city is expected to steadily rise as more of these events are held.
