'Second Global City' being eyed by BCDA!
A so-called "second Bonifacio Global City " is being prepared by the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) even as it awaits a court decision on the ownership of a 25.8-hectare property that would form part of the development.
This proposed new development is expected to rise next to the southern border of the upscale Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village. BCDA vice president Aileen Zosa.
According to BCDA Vice-President Aileen Zosa, this new project will be about 94.4 hectares, and it includes the Jusmag and Ascom/BNS/Marine Headquarters areas.
The BCDA is currently waiting for the resolution of the ownership dispute between the agency and NOVAI (or Navy Officer Village Association Inc.) over a 25.8-hectare piece of property that's slated for inclusion in the proposed new development.
Such consideration was made following a favorable decision of the Supreme Court in 2006, which recognized the BCDA's ownership of the Jusmag area that a group of Armed Forces and police officers -- the Southside Homeowners Association Inc. or SHAI -- claimed was owned by its members.
Should this "second Global City" come to fruition, it is expected to further boost Bonifacio Global City 's standing as one of the country's emerging premier business districts.
