Ayala Malls continue expansion!
Filipinos just love to go malling, even if it's just to stay cool in an air-conditioned environment, and even if there's not much money to spend. But once inside the mall, there is really not much choice left but to spend.
It is this opportunity that the Ayala Malls is banking on in its decision to set up shop in five new locations.
For so long, Ayala Malls maintained a limited number of malls even as its aggressive competitor, the SM Malls, permutated in 23 locations nationwide plus one in China (and so many more in the offing). It only recently launched Market! Market! in Fort Bonifacio Global City which put the number of malls under its wing to 5.
Now, it is whizzing like bullets and planning developments here and there.
Regular Greenbelt habitués will be excited to know that another wing is rising in the commercial area. Dubbed Greenbelt 5, this new wing will be the home of 16 new restaurants offering international cuisine, leading global fashion and luxury brands, galleries to showcase top Filipino artists and fashion houses owned by world-class local designers.
To add to the sprawling, inspiring beauty of Greenbelt's greens, Ayala Malls has hired SWA Group of California to create a more enthralling landscaping. Greenbelt 5 will be completed in September 2007.
Two sites will also rise within Fort Bonifacio Global City. The Serendra Retail strip, set to open only one month after Greenbelt 5, will house world-class Filipino arts and crafts, restaurants offering international cuisine such as Oriental, Mediterranean, European, and more.
The Promenade at the Fort Bonifacio City Center, will be showcasing several high-end retail shops at the very heart of the Global City.
Also in 2007 Ayala Malls will set up a mall directly in front of SM City on North Edsa, Quezon City. This new location, dubbed Triangle North of Makati, or TriNoMa, will be a multi-floor complex with a terraced garden inside the mall premises.
TriNoMa will operate the flagship Landmark department store and supermarket; will be directly connected to the MRT through a bridgeway, and will have generous and easily accessible parking space, cinemas, restaurants, etc.
In 2008, Ayala Malls will open a newly expanded Ayala Center Cebu where mallgoers will enjoy new and astounding landscaping of fountains and gardens blending with modern architecture.
Ayala Malls is going to be very busy over the next two years as the Ayala Group takes advantage of all the opportunities the Philippine retail industry has to offer.
