BORACAY.
The Tropical Paradise of Dreams.
Boracay real estate has been gaining the attention of not only potential local but also of international locators.
Boracay is an island located 2 kilometers off the northwestern tip of Panay island in Western Visayas. Boracay is part of the province of Aklan, where it falls under the municipality of Malay.
Located about 315 kilometers south of Manila, Boracay has a length of approximately seven kilometers and has a total land area of 10.32 square kilometers.
Boracay is famed for its white sand beach resorts and its two primary tourism attractions beaches are White Beach and Bulabog Beach. These two stretches of white-sand beach are located on opposite sides of each other on the narrow central area of the island. White Beach faces westward to the Sulu Sea while Bulabog Beach faces eastward toward the Sibuyan Sea.
White Beach is a four-kilometer long stretch of resorts, hotels, lodging houses, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses. This is where the bulk of all tourism-related activities take place. Meanwhile, Bulabog Beach, is Boracay's main windsurfing and kiteboarding area.
There is an 18-hole championship golf course called Fairways and Bluewater located in the central and eastern areas of the northern tip of the island.
There are many real estate developments currently underway throughout the length and breadth of the island. Beach resorts are continuously springing up in the two main beach areas, as well as in the more hidden areas of the islands. More sophisticated projects are increasingly being developed to cater to a more upscale clientele.
There are some stretches of beach land, as well as houses and villas that are currently available for sale and rent throughout the island.
The following are the advantages of acquiring real estate in Boracay:
- Boracay is a continuing tourist magnet. As such, values of properties may continue to increase as more tourist activities bode well for the local economy.
- Boracay is easily accessible by plane from Manila and from major regional centers like China, Korea, Singapore and others. Furthermore, it is served by two local airports – the Caticlan and Kalibo airports.
- Boracay lies a little south to the traditional typhoon-prone areas of Luzon.
- Boracay’s peace and order situation is good. It is free of insurgencies that plague some of the country’s provinces.
- Some of the biggest hotel and resort chains in the world are slowly making their presence felt in Boracay. The Shangri-La group, for example, just recently opened their hotel resort in the island. This bodes well for further appreciation of properties in the island.
