ALABANG.
Southern Metro Manila's Sparkling Jewel.
|
 |
Alabang is a town in Muntinlupa, the southernmost city of Metro Manila. It has undergone aggressive growth in the past few decades due to its dual role of being the last outpost of Metro Manila, as well as being the gateway to the booming southern region known as Calabarzon (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon).
Alabang is home to some of the best and promising commercial establishments in the metropolis, as well as to large and posh residential communities. Commercial real estate developments include the Madrigal Business Park and the Filinvest Corporate City. These large-scale developments contributed to the transformation of the Alabang landscape from agricultural farms into a sleek |
satellite city that combines residential, business, industrial and commercial establishments. |
A lot of companies have made Alabang their headquarters of operations. Consequently, the migration of residents to the town has been unabated and the economic impact on the town has been quite exemplary.
The features of Alabang that serve as attractions to prospective residents and business locators are the following:
-
Alabang is about 25 minutes away from the Makati Business District. It is connected to Makati by an 18-kilometer superhighway called the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). Other major roads that link to it are the Alabang-Zapote Road, the old National Highway and the upcoming Metro Skyway and Circumferential Road 6 (C-6).

It is a short drive away from such golf courses as Manila Southwoods and Santa Elena.
- Alabang is home to several of the country's mammoth shopping centers such as the Alabang Town Center, Festival Supermall and Metropolis. It is likewise very near SM Southmall.
- It hosts the prestigious Asian Hospital and Medical Center which boasts some of the most modern and state-of-the-art medical equipment in the Philippines. Alabang also hosts the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
- Alabang hosts the Northgate Cyberpark which is a business enclave that specializes in hosting information and technology industries.
- Alabang has two world-class country clubs that offer a variety of leisure facilities to the weary denizen. These are Alabang Country Club and The Palms Country Club. Alabang Country Club inside the Ayala Alabang Village is the first facility in the country to combine the features of a golf club, a polo club and a sports club. The Palms Country Club at Filinvest Corporate City offers all the latest amenities in sports, dining and leisure activities.
- It hosts several educational institutions like the Santiago Zobel School of De La Salle, the Woodrose School and the Institute for Child Advancement (ICA). There are also several schools in the surrounding areas.

Alabang's future is indeed bright. The burgeoning economy of the Calabarzon region shows no signs of abating and with it, the demand for residential housing in Alabang seems quite secure. The desire for convenient city living minus the hassles and aggravations of staying in a huge metropolis is ever present. A house in Alabang offers a relatively relaxed atmosphere while at the same time provides relative proximity to all the major conveniences offered by the city.
